Just Sayin’

CCMC291Happy Thursday everyone.  Oh my…there is a hope of Spring in the air!  Okay…it’s not -9 and it’s not snowing…I guess that is hope!  But for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, I decided to add a little hope with a happy card…okay…I think it is happy!

This is a fun set.  One of the things I often forget to do is to make my own dsp.  Now that there are so many pretty printed papers out there, it is easy to forget to make our own.  The sketch challenge this week I thought was perfect for doing this for the panel.

Here’s the details –

  • Basic Black – 4 1/4 x 11 folded.  It’s a little hard to see from the picture but I ran it through the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.
  • Whisper White – 2 3/4 x 4 1/4.  Stamp the large flower with Daffodil Delight,  the multiple blossom flower in Smoky Slate and the ‘starburst’ flower in StazOn Jet Black (or Basic Black).  Layer 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Smoky Slate under it then another piece of the Smoky Slate 3/4 x 4 1/4 along the top.  I a piece of Silver 1/8″ Ribbon around the tap and add to card front.
  • Stamp greeting using StazOn Jet Black (or Basic Black) on Daffodil Delight, cut out with matching framelits and add to the card front using dimensionals.
  • Add some Basic Rhinestones to the center of each ‘starburst’ flower to finish it off.

Check out Create with Connie and Mary to learn more and to see the great projects by the design team.

  1. love your card Mary. I am in the bad part of the country for winter also……:0(
I love ideas using dsp or homemade dsp. I have trouble using the designer papers and yup I have lots of it LOL

  2. I love your hand crafted DSP! I love stamping mine too but usually feel like I should use the dsp I bought, lol!! Your colors are great and I love the bright Daffodil word bubble! Such fun!
