Send Me Soaring

Happy Thursday!  Looks like I’m still up and running…yippee!  Just have to finish getting all the files transferred over and I’ll be back to normal…well, you know what I mean!  Since it is Thursday, it is time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

I have to say that although I really like the incolors that came in this year, the one I find hardest, for me, to use is Island Indigo.  I like the color but it just isn’t a ‘go to’ color like Pool Party…now THERE’S a GO TO color!  LOVE it!  So…this color challenge was good for me to pull out the Island Indigo and get creating!

The base of the card is So Saffron.  I folded a piece and ran it through the Clear Scallop Square Die and then did a full piece to layer on top.  I like the look of the full scallop all the way around.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the ‘strings’ in Basic Grey.  I layered this onto Island Indigo then added to the card base on a slight angle.  Next I made ‘clouds’ using my cupcake builder punch and Whisper White and added these to the card front.  I stamped the kites in the three challenge colors and cut out.  I stamped the kits ‘tails’ in the three colors and yes…I AM NUTS and I DID CUT THEM OUT!  I added these behind the kites then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting on Wild Wasabi using Basic Grey ink then used my Decorative Label punch (you punch it twice to make the smaller tag and added that using dimensionals.  To add just a little extra I added some Basic Rhinestones.
