CAS ImaginedWHAT is up with the title of this post?  Well…if you were following Stampin’ Up!s convention announcements you know that “Undefined” is the name of SU’s new line of carve your own stamps!

When I started thinking about something to carve what immediately popped into my head was a dragonfly…you KNOW I LOVE ’em…but SU doesn’t have any.  I was inspired by a beautiful necklace I saw (and I have looked and looked so I can link to it and have not found it…if I do…I will link) and well…I carved my own.

So…the CAS challenge is to be inspired by the song “Butterfly” by Little Mix and the part I liked was “Mama told me not to waste your life, she said spread your wings you little butterfly…okay…I think she REALLY meant dragonfly.  I thought the sentiment “Live the life you’ve imagined was perfect for the song.

The base of the card is whisper white.  I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped my hand carved dragonfly using Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, and Smoky Slate.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Black then added a pierced sun in the background.  I added this panel to the card base using dimensionals then added some rhinestones to finish it off.

Set(s): Really Good Greeting, Undefined
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding Smoky Slate
Other: Essentials Paper Piercing Templates, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

  1. Hi Mary,

It was a pleasure meeting you at convention (I was with Pam Strobel). Love your dragonfly – it is beautiful! I won the Undefined set at convention but have yet to carve anything; however, your dragonfly shows that the carved stamp idea really works. Thanks for sharing all of your creative ideas.

    Happy stamping,

    Sue Whitney

  2. Gosh Mary
I love your stamp. Wish you could make another like it. I want one just like it but not sure I am that talented. I have the undefined and ordered right after convention but too afraid to mess up. I never got to play at convention because the lines were just too darn long. I can’t stand on my feet for long so I didn’t get to do too much except the actual classes and the general sessions. Good thing I got the recognition room it was nice to go in there and at least have a place to sit a spell. Thanks for posting your beautiful creation perhaps there is hope for me yet.
