Medallion

Well…it’s almost time to say good-bye to the Medallion stamp!  I have SOOOO enjoyed using the stamp over the years…soooo classy!  So here is my ‘fond farewell’ to that stamp for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

This sketch is based on a card in one of the older SU catalogs.  That one was a Halloween card.  Sometimes when I see a card made with SU stuff, it is difficult for me to see it with other SU stuff!  But we do like to use the catalog as inspiration!  Isn’t that what they are there for?  Well…as you can tell, this definitely is NOT a Halloween card!

The base of the card is Whisper White.  I stamped the Medallion using Versamark on cardstock Vellum, white embossed then added to a Pool Party panel.  I added an eyelet border strip then wrapped a piece of Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta around the panel then added to the card front.  I made a tag from Pool Party, ran through the Finial Press Embossing Folder (*sniff* that is retiring soon too!), made a ‘bow’ (click on the tutorial link above) using Whisper White 5/8″ Satin and a printed brad, added to the tag then to the card front.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey on Whisper White, cut into a banner and added to the tag.  I used one of my left over Pool Party Flower Fusion Flowers (from last week) only with a white brad in the middle and added to the card front to finish it off!  Oh I do LOVE this card!
