Yes…I DO KNOW that this set is retired BUT…two weeks ago this card was the top pick for the CASology challenge for ROYAL and this week I’m a Guest Designer. WOOO HOOO!!! I AM SOOOOO excited to be asked that I just HAD to say YES! Well, then the theme is wheels and I don’t have any NEW STUFF yet that does have WHEELS on it so I used this fun set!

Those of you who follow my blog know that I LOVE the CAS style. I love using simple graphic images (like this one) and one of my favorite twists I like to do with CAS cards is using paper piercing. I think the piercing adds a cool graphic element without adding more paper and ‘stuff’ to your card.

The base of my card is Whisper White. I took another piece of Whisper White and pierced (free hand around a die cut of a star) a star on the background. This panel is added to the card base using dimensionals. Oh…I always to the piercing on a separate panel so when you open the card you don’t see the back of the piercing. I stamped the greeting using Early Espresso on Pear Pizzazz, cut into a banner and added to the card front. Next I stamped the pieces of the truck using Real Red, Bermuda By, Basic Grey, Early Espresso and cut them all out. I added some red brads (also retired) to the center of the wheels then added all the pieces using dimensionals.

This is awesome, Mary! That little truck is so cute and you’re right, the paper piercing adds such a cool touch without being overwhelming. Must remember that for future cards… 🙂
