Gently Falling

Oh I LOVE FALL!!!  And the Preview Week for Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection 2013 is in FULL SWING!!!  Today we have TWO…yes…that is TWO opportunities for you to get BLOG CANDY!!!  How you might ask?  Well…visit Create with Connie and Mary to find out!

Now a little about my card…before you leave.  Honestly…this actually started out as a ‘normal’ fall colored card…you know browns, oranges, yellows etc.  Not sure what happened…but as you can see…I didn’t quite end up there!  LOL!!!  That happens to me..A LOT!  But I do LOVE these colors and they do still make me think of Fall…this set is a GREAT Fall set…so as you are working on cards for the next couple of months…don’t forget to pull this one out and use it!  The other thing is that I wanted to use some of my ‘neglected’ colors and I managed to use three of them here!

The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant.  I took a piece of Whisper White, rounded the opposite corners then stamped the large solid maple leaf with Sahara San, the solid oak leaf with Marina Mist and the then the open maple leaf with Elegant Eggplant.  I cut ran it through the script embossing folder (you can’t see it in the picture but it looks really cool in real life), cut into panels and added to the card front.  I cut a Whisper White Deco Framelit and added using dimensionals.  I did the Autumn Accents Oak leaf in Marina Mist, ran through Argyle Embossing Folder and sponged with Marina Mist.  The small leaf is Elegant Eggplant, ran through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and sponged with Elegant Eggplant.  Then the oak is stamped solid in Sahara Sand and outline in Elegant Eggplant.  These are added to the decor framelit.  Next I stamped the greeting in Elegant Eggplant on Sahara Sand, cut into a banner, added a button using white baker’s twine than added the banner to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I added a couple of rhinestones to the leaves.
