Don’t Be Square

What a fun theme we have for you today for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – “Don’t Be Square”…card that are NOT square or rectangular. This was a bit of a challenge as we really don’t have any larger framelits that can be used so mine is a little card but I think it turned out cute!

Isn’t that ADORABLE?  I used the ribbon framelit to make the base of my card.  I sometimes get asked how you do it and have the top of the card not be flattened.  Here’s a mini tutorial (I used Flirty Flamingo)…

Take piece of Flirty Flamingo 2 1/2 x 6 1/2, fold in half, cut out using Ribbon Framelit positioning the framelit as shown in picture above.

Once cute out the “card base” looks like the picture above when open.

Now cut out a single full one and layer on top.  It now opens as a card but is the full ribbon on top.

Here’s the rest of the details…

  • Whisper White – cut out flower
  • Pear Pizzazz – cut out two leave layer behind flower
  • Whisper White – stamp greeting using Flirty Flamingo and Basic Black marker, punch out using 1 3/8″ circle, layer onto scalloped circle (Flirty Flamingo) from the Layering Circles Framelits; layer everything together and add to front of ribbon using dimensionals

Don’t forget…we are offering a cool Brusho Techniques Collection…you WANT this one!
