Bordering on Romance

Did I mention that this week CAS challenge is spotlighting and what a GREAT technique that is? Make sure you check out my other card which is more of a ‘traditional’ spotlighting card!

I learned this technique (Pierced Spotlighting) from the Technique Junkies newsletter. It just love it because it gives a different look from the traditional spotlighting technique but is quick and easy…you know…my favorite thing. The other thing about this card which is fun is that although it looks like a square card it is actually a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 finished size!

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Whisper White. I added a piece of the Daffodil Delight print from Attic Boutique to the bottom and rounded the corners. Next I too a 5 1/2″ strip of Pool Party added a thin 1/8″ strip of Chocolate Chip, cut into a banner, stamped the greeting (from Family Reunion) using Chocolate Chip and added to the card front. I stamped the image using Chocolate Chip CRAFT ink on Watercolor paper and clear embossed. Next I cut it out using the Label Framelits. I pierced a circle around part of the image and colored inside the circle using Markers (So Saffron, More Mustard, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand) and a Blender Pen. Once that was done I added this piece to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.
