Beautiful Day

Happy Monday everyone!  Time again for another inspiration challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

I have to say…this one was a bit tough for me and I realized why…I DON’T DO MESSY…and watercolor is messy!  And this photo just SCREAMED watercolor to me.  So here’s the inspiration photo for this week…

And here is what I did with it (after about 4 tries!)…

Here’s the details…

  • Wild Wasabi – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 1/4, run through the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder, add strip of Pink Pirouette – 1/2 x 4 1/4 behind the panel and add to card front
  • Watercolor paper – ink image using Melon Mambo, Garden Green, and Soft Suede markers, LIGHTLY spritz with water and stamp on watercolor paper (I also did extra leaves), use an AquaPainter to pull the ink down and ‘watercolor’ the petals and leaves in., cut out, layer leaves behind flower and add to card front
  • Pink Pirouette – 5/8 x 3 1/3, stamp greeting using Memento Black, cut into banners and add using dimensionals.

Don’t forget to head over to Create with Connie and Mary to see Connie’s GREAT project!

  1. Mary, this is absolutely gorgeous! I have this stamp and haven’t tried using it yet, but I’m going to get messy and give it a try using your method. It may have taken you 4 tries, but your final product was worth the effort! So pretty! Thanks for all the directions.
