Back to School

SUOSchool1Oh my…so I see that the SUO challenge this time is Back to School and WHAT…I have NO SCHOOL STUFF!!!  So…when in doubt…go to MDS!

This is mostly designed in MDS.  There is a cute apple stamp in there that I ‘blew up’ to the size I wanted.  I then Printed things out in the size I wanted and used the pieces to create the apple, stem and leaves.  (This is a folded card in the shape of an apple.)  The card base if Real Red.  I did the stem in Early Espresso, ran through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder, sponged the edges in Early Espresso an added to the card base.  I did the top apple also in Real Red, added the Whisper White piece (this was on the original apple image in MDS), ran through the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, sponged the edges in Real Red and added to the card.  I took the leaf from the MDS image, and traced it so there were the two and they were connected, cut out of Gumball Green, and added a Crushed Curry Button to the leaves using White Baker’s Twine.  I added this to the card using Glue Dots.  I stamped the star (Simply Stars) using Crushed Curry on Daffodil Delight, cut out and added to the card.  The A is from the Typeset Alphabet Dies (in Gumball Green) and then I just hand cut out a plus sign in Basic Black.  Isn’t this just FUN?  I was sooo happy with the final card!

Check out what the rest of the SUO Challenge Design Team did with the challenge this time!

  1. Hi Mary, love following your blog. Your apple card is darling. I don’t have MDS so am wondering if you have a pattern for the apple. tfs Debie
