Vintage Vogue 3
Well it’s Sunday and it is time again for another Featured Stamper challenge on SU Connection (the SU site). Oh…I was sooo happy to see Jenn Diercks chosen this week! I CASE so much of her stuff already but thought I’d made a new one for this week! LOL!!! Congratulations Jenn…you deserve it! Okay…on to my card…
When I was trying to figure out what to use for this challenge, I decided to go with my Vintage Vogue set. I was originally going to use some of my Sweet Pea dsp (because you KNOW I {heart} it) but decided to challenge myself to NOT use any dsp on this! Now THAT is a challenge!
The base of the card is Kraft. The greeting is stamped in Rose Red. I took a piece of Pretty in Pink and randomly stamped the small flower from the set using Pretty in Pink. Next I added some leaves using Certainly Celery. I stamped off before stamping on the Pretty in Pink because I wanted a soft look. Next I pulled out that Itty Bitty Background stamp and did some in Creamy Caramel (stamped off) and Rose Red (stamped off). Finally I lightly sponged Pretty in Pink and then Certainly Celery. I thought it gave it the look a of soft designer paper without actually using background paper! I did sponge the edges in Pretty in Pink also. Okay this is layered onto Old Olive and the Rose Red. Next I tied some Old Olive 5/8” grosgrain ribbon around the piece and added a large white grommet. I added this layer to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the friend stamp once on a piece of Whisper White using Old Olive and then on a scrap piece of Whisper White using Rose Red. I cut out the Rose Red one and layered using dimensionals. Finally to make the flowers I inked the small flower using Rose Red, stamped off TWICE and then rocked the edges back into the Rose Red to give the flower imagine for depth. I did the same thing for the leaves but used Old Olive. I cut these out, layered everything together and added Old Olive brads in the center of each flower. These were then layered onto the card.
Hope you all have a great day today! It’s supposed to be really warm here today (mid-40s) so we should be having a major meltdown…we can only hope! Until next time…Happy Stampin’!
