A while back my friend Connie made a WONDERFUL card using this set and this color combination.  I just had to make one!  Okay…it sort turned out different then hers…  (See Connie’s card here) but I just loved the look.

The color scheme for this card is Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Gold.  The ornaments from the Tree Trimming set is embossing in gold and the middle one is popped up with a dimensional.  This is layered onto Soft Suede and then Brushed Gold.  I took another piece of the Soft Suede and put it through the Petals A-Plenty Embossing Folder and then layered that onto Brushed Gold.  I inked just the ‘deck the halls’ from the word block in Season of Joy and stamped that onto a piece of Very Vanilla and punched out using the 1” punch.  The square frame from the Vanilla Hodgepodge hardware is place over it and then this layered on a brushed gold curly label punched piece.  This is tied with the Soft Suede Polka Dotted ribbon.  This whole piece is then layered onto a Very Vanilla card front.

Isn’t this elegant?  When I first saw the Soft Suede…I can’t say I really liked it all that much but it really has been growing on me.  Paired with the vanilla and the brushed gold is just sooooo classy!  Can you believe it is almost Thanksgiving?  WOW…where did this year go!  I’m SOOO looking forward to being out of school although I am teaching two 2-week courses online starting the Monday after Thanksgiving.  It will be nice having a break though!  Oh…and my sister is coming down to visit the day after Thanksgiving…I can hardly wait!
