Tour de Freaks - July
Welcome everyone to the July Tour de Freaks where this talented group of ladies are going to show you some of their special projects using NEW STUFF!!! The tour starts Monday morning…I’m just posting a little early so come back then! If you are new to my blog, it works a little different from the others. Please click “Read about this project”, to see my projects and to get to the links to continue on with the hop.
I am the second stop on the tour. If you are going backwards, please click here to go to Connie’s Inkspired Treasures blog.
Oh…I just LOVE purple! REALLY…it’s one of my very favorite colors. The new rich razzleberry from SU is a nice grapey sort of color. I’m slowly getting into the new incolors and Rich Razzleberry is one that I like. I was playing with my new Thanksgiving/Fall images and though I’d use this print from Autumn Traditions dsp with the Rich Razzleberry. One thing I like to do with dsp (and don’t do it often enough) is to emboss on it. I wheeled the the Bright Blessings wheel using Versamark and embossed in gold. (ooooo…PRETTY!) I punched a strip of brushed gold using the eyelet border punch and attached it on the bottom of the embossed piece and then to the card front. Next I tied a piece of Vanilla 5/8” grosgrain ribbon along the top of the piece. I inked the circle with Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke markers and stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla and punched with the 1” circle punch. This is layered onto a 1 1/4” Rich Razzleberry circle and an Always Artichoke scallop circle. I pierced the ‘petals’ and then sponged artichoke around the edges. I embossed two of the leaves from the Falling Leaves set in gold on Crushed Curry and cut out. These are layered behind the scallop before attaching to the card front using dimensionals. I really like the look!

I absolutely, totally LOVE this Level 3 hostess set. It is just SOOO wonderful for making cards! I also REALLY LOVE the Cottage Wall paper! So I put the two together and this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry (5 1/4 x 5 1/4). I then added a 5 x 5 piece of the Cottage Wall paper followed by a 2 x 5 strip of Cottage Wall paper. I took a piece of Orchid Opulence cardstock and pierced around it, tied a piece of Olive 5/8” grosgrain ribbon around it and attached it to the card front. I inked the flower using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive markers. The greeting is stamped with Basic Black. I think this would be a wonderful card to give someone that you care about!

I found this fun tote on Becky Roberts’ site. She always has such GREAT projects! I did change it up and included a ‘dates to remember’ calendar and since my cards are ‘lumpy’ I deepened the pockets. The holder is Melon Mambo…okay the one new incolor that I immediately LOVED! I wanted to keep supplies to a limit with this so the cardstock is Whisper White, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. The ink is Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. The ribbon is Crushed Curry 1/2” Polka Dotted paper. Various punches were used to created the project. The cards are all pretty much the same layout but I changed the location of the medallion and the dsp. DSP is also used to finish off the envelop flaps. For those of you who are visiting today who are my customers…stay tuned for a class to make this project!
So that’s my projects for this month. There are still many great projects to come in the hop and you are in for a treat! Click on the picture below to see what Julie has in store for you! Happy Hoppin’!

I am now using Orchard Opulence just because of the cottage wall paper. Your card is fantastic. I also love your 3D project. Melon Mambo is my favorite of all of the In Colors right now.

OMGosh!! loved the first card!! I almost missed it hiding in the corner. The embossing looks GOJUS on the DSP and the embossed leaves poking out are too cool. TFS
