Sweetheart 2
Here is another card I made using with the Sweetheart set and heart cups. This was also a mnt at another party I did this month. I just LOVE this color combo! This was a little different so make sure you click inside to see what I did…
This card is a little different size. I started with a 5 1/2 x 6 piece of So Saffron and folded it to be a 5 1/2 x 3 card. I stamped a piece of Real Red using the bird from the set and using the Real Red ink. Next I used the 1 3/4” circle punch to punch a hole through both pieces. Now the reason for the hole is so you can ‘slide’ the kraft piece on the front and the candies will come out the back leaving the card intact. Brilliant idea isn’t it! (Wasn’t mine….LOL!). So the Heart was stamped using Real Red ink on a piece of Whisper White and the middle punched out using the Full Heart punch. Next the heart cup was inserted through the opening. I did use a little adhesive to hold it in place. Next you want to add a thin layer of tape to the top and bottom of the white piece. You want to make sure the tape doesn’t interfere with the kraft piece sliding. The SAB Scallop Trim punch was used on each end of the Kraft piece. Lay the punched Kraft piece across the open heart, turn over and position over the 1 3/4” circle. The Kraft piece will keep your candies in place until you slide the piece out. Next we inked the ‘you’re too kind’ stamp using Chocolate Chip and Real Red markers, stamped on a piece of Whisper White and punched out using the large oval punch. This is layered onto a So Saffron Scallop Oval Punch. When you layer this onto the card front, use dimensionals on the very ends of the scallop oval. The one side will be on the white (so won’t interfere with the slider) and the other end should end up on the Real Red layer to also not interfere with the slider.
Hope you liked these two samples using the Sweetheart set. I know I enjoyed making them!
Saturday is another challenger over on Create with Connie and Julie. Make sure you stop by to see what we’ve been up to!
