Sweetheart 1
Usually every January Stampin’ Up! releases a fun set just for Valentines day. This year, I think they have outdone themselves! This set is SOOO me! As soon as I got it I had to make this card (okay that and I needed to use it for a workshop a couple days later - LOL!!!) The set is designed to work with the Full Heart punch - to punch out the middle, and the new heart shaped cups. Read more about it inside…
The base of the card is So Saffron that I used the SU Polka-Dotted Embossing folder on. I just LOVE our embossing folders because they can do an entire card front! How delightful is that! Next I stamped the one heart image on a piece of Whisper White using Real Red ink and punched out the center using the Full Heart punch. I inserted the heart shaped cup and filled with various red buttons. One of the things I found that helped me is I took a piece of whisper white cardstock slightly smaller than the stamped image piece and layered it behind the heart/stamped image. This made it easier to play with. I took 4 strips of kraft and punched with the SAB scallop trim punch and adhere to the back of the heart. I took this and layered it to a piece Real Red and then the card front.
I inked the greeting from the SAB set Whimsical Words using Chocolate Chip and Real Red markers, stamped on kraft cardstock and punched out using the large oval punch. This is layered onto the cardfront. Finally I stamped the stem/leaf image on whisper white using Old Olive, cut out and layered to the card front.
So whatcha think? CUTE? I was happy with the way this turned out. I really like the color combo. Who I found it was I was cutting cards for an upcoming card class and had just cut these colors and they were stacked on top of each other. I really liked the look of them together and decided to use them with this card. It’s a GREAT combo!
