Today is inspiration challenge day over on Splitcoast.  I haven’t done one in awhile and thought I’d go check it out.  There were several pieces that I liked and decided I would play along.  Read more inside…

I tend to be drawn to the green/blue/purple color combos so this green and blue one was right up my alley.  To see the original piece that inspired me…CLICK HERE!

I decided on the color combo of Kraft, Basic Grey, Gable Green and Bermuda Bay…with just a little Whisper White thrown in there!  The base of the card is Kraft.  I layered the gable green print from the Kaleidoscope dsp onto Basic Grey then Bermuda Bay.  I wanted a little white in there like the pennant so I added a strip of the striped Bride specialty paper layered onto the Basic Grey.  I tied Bermuda Bay Polka Dotted ribbon and Basic Grey taffeta ribbon around it and then layered it onto the gable green print and then the whole thing onto the kraft card front.  The flower is the three smallest flowers on the Flower Fold die (LOVE this die)...Kraft, Gable Green, and Bermuda Bay.  I was trying to figure out how to do that print circle in the middle and decided to punch a 1” circle out of the swirly Bride Specialty paper and then brayer it with Basic Grey…voila!  It worked!  The greeting is from the Something Sweet set (which was sitting on top of my desk ready to go which is why I picked it - LOL!).  I stamped it in Basic Grey on Gable Green and punched with the large oval punch.  This is layered onto a scalloped Bermuda Bay oval.  Both the flower petals and the ovals are all sponged in Basic Grey.

So do you think I captured some of the elements of the inspiration piece?

Hope you all are having a GREAT day and staying warm.  It is FREEZING here!  Oh…I HATE the cold!  Make sure you stop back tomorrow…got something really cool for you and you don’t want to miss it!
