First things first…Preview Week for Create with Connie and Julie Occasions starts Sunday!  WOO HOOO!!!  You don’t want to miss is so make sure you check there EVERY day to see something new.

So onto my card…interesting color combo…huh?  Check inside for more details!

When I saw the color challenge on Splitcoast today I thought how different and decided I needed to try it.  Being a person who tends to not use traditional colors much I thought it would be fun to do this color combo (Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, Basic Grey) with my I {Heart} Hearts set (in the new Occasions mini).  So whatcha think?  I think it works.  Here’s the details…

The base of the card is Barely Banana.  I ran my piece of Dusty Durange through the Finial Press folder, cut it into panels and then layered onto Basic Grey panels.  I ink the “My Dear, Kind…” stamp using So Saffron, Dusty Durango, and Basic Grey markers and stamped it on one of the new ‘hugs’ love notes.  I sponged Basic Grey around the edges.  The hearts were stamped using the So Saffron, Dusty Durango, and Basic Grey ink, stamped on Whisper White and cut out.  I used So Saffron ink because it showed up better.  I do really like it in the combo!  I punch out a couple of the littlest heart using the 3 Heart punch and added those.  Things are finished off with Basic Grey taffeta ribbon.  I dis use a bunch of dimensionals to add depth to the card.

What a fun color combo!  I will definitely have to use this more!  Happy Stampin’!
