Stampin’ Up! recently started a special place on the web for demonstrators called Stampin’ Up! Connection.  Only demos can access this site and it is filled with wonderful samples made by demonstrators.  This week they started new featured called Featured Stamper (like the one over on SCS) where they pick a demonstrator and we pick an item they made and CASE it.  They picked my friend Wendy Weixler so I just HAD to play along.

I can’t show you her original card (since the SU Connections is a closed site) but I wanted to share this with you.  The set is Happy Moments which is one of the SAB exclusive sets.  I have to say, when I got that set I never really thought I’d use the birdcage image but I found it was PERFECT for this card!  It is inked with Chocolate Chip and Bermuda Bay markers, stamped on white and cut out.  It is layered on a 1 3/8” circle and then a Chocolate Chip Scallop circle with the petals pierced.  The base of the card is Taken with Teal.  I then added a layer of Chocolate Chip.  I took a piece of the designer paper from the Sweet Pea pack (you all KNOW how I {heart} the Sweet Pea pack) and used the front and back of one piece for this.  It was the little birdies that inspired me to do the birdcage. I took a strip of Sahara Sand and stamped the Happy Birthday (from the same set) using Chocolate Chip.  I layered this onto Chocolate Chip cardstock before adding it to my card front.  I added a piece of the chocolate taffeta ribbon.  To make the bow, I folded a piece of the chocolate taffeta ribbon and placed it between the prongs on the chocolate chip 1/4” epoxy brad.  I closed the prongs and then added it to the card front.

If I find a picture of Wendy’s card that I can link to, I will but until then I hope you enjoy this one!  Happy stampin’ everyone!
