Fox & Friend 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Time is running out for the early bird special on Create with Connie and Julie. You have until Sunday (January 3rd) to take advantage of the Early Bird special! Don’t delay! Preview week starts the January 3rd.
My friend Lisa and I decided to do a challenge on Thursday. There were two different sketches from which to chose and the color combo of Dusty Durango, Barely Banana, Basic Grey (you know…like my heart card). Anyway…here’s my card…more details inside.
Doesn’t this just make you happy? It really is a very easy card to make. The base of the card is Barely Banana. I didn’t have any Dusty Durango dsp so I took a piece of Bride specialty paper and brayered the Dusty Durango over it. I layered this onto a piece of Basic Grey. I took a piece of Barely Banana and stamped the woodgrain background stamp using Basic Grey and then sponged the edges with Dusty Durango. This is layered onto Basic Grey. I took one of the large silver brads from the Stylized Silver Hodgepodge hardware kit and put in over a piece of the Dusty Durango polka dotted ribbon to create the ‘bow’. This is attached through the banana/grey piece. I stamped the fox, owl and monkey in Dusty Durango on Whisper White and the then Lion and Giraffe in More Mustard (because it showed up better) on Whisper White. Then I cut them out and layered them on a piece of Whisper White (layered on Basic Grey). The Dusty Durango animals are popped up using dimensionals. The greeting is from the Family Phrases set and thought it went so well with the ‘critters’. It is stamped on in Basic Grey on Barely Banana, punched with the 3/4” punch, sponged around the edges and layered onto a 1” Basic Grey circle.
Well…I think that about does it for this card. I hope you all had a great new years eve! Here’s to a wonderful 2010!

Hi Mary,
How do you cut out your stamped images with such precision? It looks like you had a punch or something for the critters? How DO you do that?
Really great card - just adorable and great use of color and stamps.
