Cheep Talk C&C
So what is the C&C? That stand for “Chat and Challenge”! The other night a Stampin’ Up! demo group that I belong to was having a ‘chat and challenge’ and using the sketch provided, I made this card.
First I just LOVE this paper! This is the Urban Oasis dsp and was designed to go with the Fifth Ave Floral set. But don’t let it fool you…it is GREAT paper that goes with EVERYTHING! (*sniff*...I CAN’T BELIEVE these colors are going to be retiring SOOOOO SOON!) So I had decided I was going to use this paper and then I had to figure out a set to use with it. Initially I thought I would do the Fifth Ave Floral but that was TOOO normal so I went with Cheep Talk. I figured those cute little bird would work so nicely with the circle elements in the sketch design.
So for the details…the base of the card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 and Baja Breeze. The polka dotted paper is 4x4 and has a Basic Grey layer underneath. I used the corner rounder on both layers. The grey piece is from the Urban Oasis dsp and I used some of the wonderful Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain around it. The little bird is stamped in Baja Breeze and the bigger bird is in Kiwi Kiss. The bigger bird is cut out and layered onto the circle otherwise she would have been missing some of her parts! The scallop circle is in Going Grey. Oh…the final element on the card sketch was that thin vertical line. I decided that I would just use a thin piece of Going Grey for that.
This was such a GREAT sketch for a quick and easy card! There were a bunch of people who participated and my name got picked out of the drawing as the winning card. COOOL!!! VERY COOOOL!
Guess what? The ‘last chance’ list will be here tomorrow (along with demo pre-order of some new things). I just love the sneak peeks we, as demonstrators, get and the opportunity to start planning for our new year.
Hope everyone has a GREAT day and until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
