I’m back from Vegas!  Oh…what a wonderful time!  Not only did we walk around looking at all the ‘sites’...we went to two fabulous shows:  Blue Man Group and cirque du soleil - LOVE!  OH MY WORD…more about the card and both of these inside…

Okay…first about the card.  This is an EXTREMELY easy but elegant card.  I did a little mini ‘embossing’ card class for one of my groups and this was one of the 4 cards they made.  The card is kraft ink.  We stamped with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Birthday Wishes (Elegant Greetings) is stamped with riding hood red on a strip of very vanilla then punched out using the wide oval punch.  The tag was made using basic black and the sizzlet lots of tags.  It is all finished off with a piece of riding hood red taffeta ribbon tied in a knot and attached with a glue dot.  What could be easier!  Now if I remember right, this card was inspired (possibly cased) from someone online.  If this looks like one you have done, please let me know and I’ll give credit!

So as for the trip…Rand and I went to Vegas as we continue our 25th wedding anniversary!  Now Rand has been out there several times but I have never been there.  We arrived there on Friday and started by going to the Forum shoppes and getting something to eat.  How cool is that place!  The ceiling is made to look like the sky!  After dinner we hopped the bus and went downtown to see the light show.  VERY COOL!!!  Saturday we did more walking around (and bus riding) as we visited many of the casinos.  Sorry…no tales of great riches here!  That evening we went to see the Blue Man Group.  We enjoyed the show VERY much but we both had to say it was the weirdest show we had ever seen!  If you don’t know the Blue Man Group they are percussionists who play instruments made from pvc pipe.  They are also extremely funny!  There is alot of audience participation throughout.  Because they use paint on their drums, the first 8 or so rows had to wear ponchos throughout the performance!  (We weren’t that close.)  Let’s see…they have a very sketch involving twinkies and two with jello.  There also was some paint and stay puff marshmallows.  What can I say…you had to be there!  Then there was cirque du soleil - LOVE (Beatles review).  Amazing…truly amazing!  There was so much going on constantly you didn’t know where to look!  There are several cirque du soleil shows in Vegas, each with a different theme.  The Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was so cool how they did it.  I wish there was a way to describe all the things that were going on but it was all just so amazing.  I flew home yesterday (got in around 11 pm) and was back at school today.  WHEW!  If you do ever get a a chance to see a cirque du soleil, I really recommend it.  As for the Blue Man Group - LOVED it…but can’t say it would be for everyone!

Okay…I’m off to get ready for a downline meeting on Thursday.  Who knows…I might even get to do a little stamping!  Thanks for stopping by to see the Freak Hop!  Remember that is the 20th of every month!  Until next time…Happy Stampin’!
