Altered Snowflake
I like to alter things…you probably have noticed that with my notebooks. I found these metal snowflakes and decided they will be fun to ‘spiffy up’ a bit. Check in side for what the original snowflake looked like and directions…
So here is what the snowflake looked like before I started decorating it. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with it except…it is a disease…I must alter it and I was going to use this for the Control Freak Blog Hop (just a reminder…it is not being held this month due to the holiday) and our theme was snow! When I saw the ornament I thought it would be a perfect project to show for that! The snowflake had a Not Quite Navy color to it under the gold so I went with that. I used the Scallop Circle die to make Not Quite Navy circle then the circle scissors cutter for the gold and the confetti what layers. I stamped the snowmen from the Level 2 hostess set Snowbuddies colored and cut them out and layered onto the the circles. I used the white gel pen to do the ‘dots’ in the scallop circle and then finished it off with a Dusty Durango bow.
The metal snowflake was flat but was very easy to bend so I bent the pieces to give it more of a three dimensional look. Fun isn’t it! This was really a quick and easy project and I thought would fun as a tag on a gift and then an ornament on a tree. Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
