Tour de Freaks - September
![]()
If you are viewing this before 9/20 the hop is not yet set up! WOOOO HOOOO!!! It’s our favorite time when the Freaks all join together for our monthly blog hop! We are all just SOOOOO excited to be sharing with your our special Fall/Autumn/Halloween projects so I’ll get right to mine! If you are going forward through you arrived here from my friend Connie Babbert of INKspired Treasures...oh my word…was that purse cute or what!
First I want to share with you my card. I’m NOT a big fan of Halloween but I do LOVE creating with these colors so I decided to go with a ‘Halloween’ theme for my post today. I think this little stamp from the Gift Givers set is just THE CUTEST so I decided to make a little card with it. Connie got me started on the idea of pairing up the Silver Glimmer paper with Halloween sets and she was right…PERFECT combo (I honestly was just thinking Christmas with that paper). The base of the card is Cajun Craze. I used the Scallop Square to make the folded base then layered a FULL scallop square on top. Next I cut a piece of the silver glimmer paper but I didn’t want to waste all the ‘good stuff’ hidden under the layer so I cut a circle out of the middle so that I could use that for another project. I took a piece of Peach Parfait, ran it through the Polka Dotted embossing folder added a 2 1/2” Cajun Craze circle, some ‘postage stamp’ punched piece in the Pick Your Poison and Silver Glimmer, a strip of the striped Pick Your Poison dsp then wrapped a piece of the 1/8” Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon around it. I stamped the image using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper and colored with Tangerine Tango and Peach Parfait markers (and just a touch of Old Olive for the stems). Two of the pumpkins were stamp a second time, colored, cut out and added using dimensionals. It was punched out with the Decorative Label punch and added using dimensionals.
Oh the box! I had sooooo much fun making this! I found this 9 window Shadow Box at Walmart and immediately thought how perfect it would be for a Halloween decor item! I am NOT going to go into much detail here but come back on Friday and I will post individual pictures of each window so you can see better. I will also give more details of the project then!
Some basic details though…I used the Pick Your Poison dsp as my ‘inspiration’ for the colors. I also have at least a little ‘touch’ of the silver glimmer paper in each window. I used the set “Out on a Limb” for all my stamped images. You all KNOW I LOVE using the 1 1/4” striped grosgrain ribbon for ‘bows’ so there are a couple in there along with some rosettes made by using our new Simply Scored tool (LOVE IT!!!). I did a couple little twists in there with the O being BOO and putting the two Es close together and adding a K for EEK! So come back Friday and I’ll have more pictures and details to share with you!
Now it’s on to your next freaky stop and check out Lisa Martz Get Your Stamp On blog! Her stuff is always SOOOOO nice!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Lovely projects, especially the shadow box. I don’t do Halloween either, but I do like these.
