Tour de Freaks - May
![]()
WOO HOO and welcome to the May Tour de Freak Blog Hop as we celebrate MEN! If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from Connie Babbert’s INKspired Treasures blog. Wasn’t her projects FABULOUS??? I thought so too!
I wanted to show you how I got such ‘white sails’ on my cards. I masked with an open circle or an open square (this is the open circle), sponged Daffodil Deligth on the bottom, Pumpkin Pie in the middle, then Tangerine Tango on the top. I removed the mask then stamped the sail boat using Basic Black. Next I stamped the sail boat again on Whisper White and cut out the sails (that’s the middle picture). I then glued the sails over the stamped image. Now the sails are nice and white and really just pop off the page!
These are the two cards I made. For each I used the directions above to create the sponged/stamped image. On the circle one, I stamped the Happy Birthday from Curly Cute using Basic Black and layered on Tempting Turquoise. On the square one, I stamped just for you (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) in Basic Black, layered it on Tempting Turquoise and added a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon. These are added to a Whisper White card base that had been run through the Lattice Square Embossing Folder. I also ran the flap of the envelope through the Lattice Square Embossing Folder.
I wanted to make a nice holder for this card set (there are 3 of each design of card along with matching envelopes. This is a holder that I created back in January and share a full free tutorial on it. If you come back on the 25th, I will share the link to the FREE tutorial. What I like about this holder is that it can be made with 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and is REALLY quick and easy to make. So come back then to get the tutorial.
I just loved the bright, happy colors! Ever since the color renovation this past year I have found myself using the brights more and more…just so cheerful!
Now it’s time to move on to the next stop…Gretchen Barron - she ALWAYS has such wonderful projects! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop! Click on the picture below to take you to the next stop.
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
