Our first challenge for our subscribers is a sketch challenge! Since one of the sets we featured this week was Dark and Dreary, I decided to use that, along with the Nite Owl dsp for my card. Mine ended up being a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card because I used the Raven from one piece of dsp on my card and it was SOOO LARGE that I needed to make a bigger card!
The base of the card is Tangerine Tango. I took a piece of basic black and ran it through the Spider Web embossing folder. Because of the size of the piece I had to do the top section and the bottom section to get it all done. The ‘messed up’ part is covered by the dsp panel. I took some Whisper White CRAFT ink and rubbed it over the raised parts. I added a panel of dsp and then put a Pumpkin Pie 1/4” grosgrain ribbon along the top and bottom. Next I added a piece of Old Olive 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon above and below the panel. This is all layered onto the card front using dimensionals. Next I stamped the Happy Halloween panel using Basic Black on Whisper White and cut it out and layered it onto a piece of Tangerine Tango. The 31 is stamped on Tangerine Tango, punched out with the 1/2” circle punch and added with a dimensional. This is layered onto the card front. The spider is stamped in Basic Black on Old Olive, punched with the 1” circle punch and added onto a 1 1/4” Basic Black circle (a little off center just for the heck of it!). Finally the large crow was cut from a piece of the dsp and added to the card front using dimensionals. Last, but not least, a few rhinestones here and there for that extra bling!
