Contempo Christmas
I have made it back to Ohio FINALLY! We had a scare with dad on Tuesday night (he’s been readmitted to the hospital again) and I just couldn’t leave. He really is now doing much better so I came back yesterday). I haven’t stamped since I left so I wanted to do something easy to start with the Stamping 411 sketch challenge was perfect for that!

Isn’t this a nice easy sketch? I thought so. I decided to use my Christmas stamps some more so pulled out my Contempo Christmas set. The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 in Old Olive. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and, since I think the Elegant Line Embossing Folder looks like swirling snow, used that one! I added a piece of the Cherry Cobbler dsp then the Old Olive striped dsp from the Jolly Holidays pack. I stamped the ornament using Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and punched using the 1 3/4” circle punched. This is layered onto an Old Olive circle (circle scissor cutter) and then a Cherry Cobbler 2 3/8” Scallop Circle. I made a ‘bow’ using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and In Color Glitter Brads and added that through all the layers. This is then added to the card base. The card is finished off by using an Old Olive marker to ink just the ‘Christmas is Love’ part of the sentiment and stamping on the Very Vanilla layer.
Can you believe that is all there is too it? Pretty easy! I love quick and easy cards(especially when I haven’t stamped FOR AGES!!!)
On a personal note…dad is doing better. We did get some REALLY good news…his clotting factor, which had been at 0, is now at 54% which is in normal range. He is going to be coming off the chemo in 2 to 3 weeks. After being on oxygen since Nov 1st (and up to 10 liters Tuesday night…YIKES!) he is now off oxygen. So…he really is getting there. He is still in the hospital because of swelling in one arm and his legs. They want to get that a little better under control before they release him this time. I really hope that by the first of the year he will be able to get back to his place. I know how much he misses being there! He has been in the hospital pretty much since Nov 1st.
So…hopefully in I’ll be getting back in the stamping mode. I have a TON of projects that are just waiting for me to start! I can’t wait.
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

This is wonderful! I love how you’ve made the bow topper for the ornament—such a pretty ribbon treatment. Congratulations on your operator pick—it’s an honor to be in your company.

This is truly gorgeous. I’m going to try to make 20 Christmas cards each month in 2011. I’m going to try to remember this idea! I figure if I get 20 made each month, I’ll have enough to send next year. This year I didn’t have enough nor enough time to make anymore, so people got left off the “send” list! Oh well!
